Women’s Soccer World Cup Win: Abby Wambach Smooches Wife! [PHOTOS]

The USA women's soccer team triumphed over Japan in the FIFA World Cup finals in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada just over the weekend. The team's forward, Abby Wambach helped the US team garner a 5-2 score over the Asian finalist team.

After the final whistle blow, Wambach ran to the sidelines to celebrate the victory with her wife, Sarah Huffman. As Huffman bent over the extremely high railings, the couple shared a passionate and loving lip lock. The two also shared a loving embrace as photographers captured the intimate moments on camera.

The kiss not only marks the triumphant win of Abby Wambach's team against Japan. The 35-year-old soccer superstar has actually disclosed that the World Cup match would be her last - which signifies her last chance to win the title as well.

Although Wambach stayed on the sidelines for most of the game, the two-time Olympic gold medalist and 2012 FIFA World Player of the Year was warmly greeted by the stadium as she stepped out on the field for a substitution on the 79th minute. As the clock ticked, fans lovingly supported as Carli Lloyd (who scored a hat-trick within the first 16 minutes of the game) handed her captain's armband to Wambach.

Wambach has been dubbed the "soul" of the U.S. team. In fact, Abby has scored the most international goals (183 to be exact) than any player of any gender in soccer history.

The loving moment between Huffman and Wambach comes just a little over a week after the historic decision of the US Supreme Court ruling to legalize same sex marriage over the 50 states of the nation.

Fans loved the public display of affection between the Wambach and Huffman - noting that the emotional moment was a "perfect tribute" to the recent ruling. Sarah Huffman and Abby Wambach tied the knot in Hawaii back in 2013. Twitter users shared supportive sentiments on the win, as well as Wambach's loving moments with Huffman, with the hashtag, #LoveWins. Check out the tweets below!
