The 2015 BET Awards was held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on June 28 and the night was made epic by a lot of artists who performed including that amazing number by Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys with The Weekend.
According to Capital FM, the night was swept away by Beyoncé who is not going to give up her throne as queen in the music industry. She went home with three awards even when she wasn't even on the event. Beyoncé won the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist category among the three awards that she won.
E! has the complete list of all the winners and here some of the artists who also went home victoriously from the awards that they received. The "Ultimate Icon and Music Dance Visual Award" went to Janet Jackson while Sam Smith snagged the Best New Artist since his single Stay With Me has been the anthem of almost everybody in the world since it was released. The Best Female Hip-Hop Artist went to Nicki Minaj and the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist was crowned at Kendrick Lamar. Chris Brown still proved that he deserves a spot in the industry for winning the Best Male R&B/Pop Artist category.
The night also acknowledged international acts and the Best International Act in UK went to Stormzy while Stoneybwoy grabbed the Best International Act in Africa. In case you don't know them, then now is the perfect time to check out their sounds. The Best Group category was won by Rae Sremmurd for the Best Collaboration, Common & John Legend nailed it for working with their song called "Glory."
Video of the year of course was once again won by Beyonce for "7/11" and the Lifetime Achievement Award went to living legend, Smokey Robinson. There are also new names that made the nominees spot like Tinashe for Best New Artist and Jhené Aiko for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist.
