Pedro Pascal Netflix: After Crushed Skull On ‘Game Of Thrones,’ Oberyn Martell Actor Stars In Pablo Escobar Biopic [VIDEO]

Oberyn Martell's death in "Game of Thrones," after The Mountain crushed his skull with his bare hands during a fight, is one of the most gruesome things to happen in a series that's already known to be severely violent, but it also made the actor a household name - and now, a year after his HBO appearance, now it's Pedro Pascal's Netflix moment.

The new Pedro Pascal Netflix series sees the Chilean-born actor, 40, taking the role of the DEA agent who chased Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar until finally getting him, Javier Peña.

According to Slash Film, the Pedro Pascal Netflix series is called "Narcos," and it will also star Wagner Moura (from "Elysium") as Escobar, as well as "Milk" actor Boyd Holbrook in the role of another DEA agent who was also after Escobar's tracks.

Business Insider reports that the Pedro Pascal Netflix series already has a release date, and the "Game of Thrones" actor will be coming back to the small screen during the summer, at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 28, as the show tells the story of how the longtime manhunt for Escobar went, as the American Drug Enforcement Administration chased him.

According to Entertainment Weekly, this new Pedro Pascal Netflix series was created by director Jose Padilha (responsible for "Elite Squad") and it's based on the true events behind Escobar's ultimate capture, telling the story of how a Mexican DEA agent worked together with an American one in 1980s Medellin to catch the master of Escobar's cocaine empire at the time, when he became the most famous drug lord in the whole world.

Other actors joining the show are Stephanie Sigman (who will appear in the Bond film "Spectre" later this year), Juan Pablo Raba, Luis Guzman, André Mattos and Johanna Christie, among others.
