Coming off the success of the movie San Andreas, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to star in a big screen, this time in the movie Rampage. It is a film based on a classic arcade game. Dwayne Johnson will be back in action amidst countless buildings being destroyed,as an adaptation of Midway's classic 80's Arcade Game.
Off from San Andreas the movie, the live-action film is reuniting Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, with film studio New Line Cinema, and producer Beau Flynn. No words have been disclosed as to who the director is for the upcoming project. Rampage the movie will be written by Non-Stop scribe Ryan Engle.
The production is keeping the plot under wraps, but the arcade game Rampage involves three giant monsters: a gorilla, a lizard and a wolf .The wolf made the widespread destruction of major cities and landmarks across North America.
The production is set by New Line Cinema next year once The Rock finishes his project with Fast and Furious 8.
The outstanding team up of Johnson together with both the producer and studio behind San Andreas, the earthquake disaster film made a stunning $415 million in global ticket sales, ensures a grand expectation from the audience. They will know exactly what to expect in terms of action-packed scenes in Rampage.
According to Game Skinny, the game Rampage was originally an arcade game released in 1986, but was ported to every home console which includes the Atari 2600, NES and Sega Master System. Then 10 years later, the game's sequel, Rampage: World Tour, was released on PS1, N64, Sega Saturn and other systems. There were four more sequels came throughout the years - with the final installment of the game on the Wii in 2006.
Dwayne Johnson previously starred in 2005's Doom, so this wouldn't be the actor's first film based on a video game.
