‘Real Housewives of New York’ Star Sonja Morgan: No Longer Broke, Says ‘It Feels Great’

After legal troubles and a bankruptcy case, Sonja Morgan's worst nightmare is finally over. It's been five years since she filed for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2010.

"It's over now. Its come to an end. The $9 million plus is all there. It was $7 million judgment but with the administration fees, it was about another $2 million," Sonja told E! News.

Morgan also added that she's "out of Chapter 11." Chapter 11 is a portion of the Bankruptcy Code that propositions a restructuring plan to allow businesses to stay afloat and pay its creditors over an amount of time.

Sonja Morgan shared her sentiments on her new triumph. "It feels great. I did a great job. I paid what I had to pay and it wasn't easy, but at the same time it was an experience."

The "Real Housewives of New York" star felt ecstatic to know that no one's going to be keeping an eye on her money anymore. Morgan said, "It's nice to be free of everyone looking at my money. I finally have my financial privacy back."

Sonja Morgan joined the show's franchise during its third season, while noting what led to her bankruptcy. Ultimately, her production company, Sonja Productions, encountered a failed endeavor with Hannibal Pictures, Inc.

The two companies complete with Morgan's financial support, was intended to create a new film called "Fast Flash to Bang Time." John Travolta was set to star in the lead role.

Unfortunately for Morgan, the movie wasn't even able to "[get] off the ground," as E! News puts it. Travolta never actually signed the deal's contract and at the same time, Sonja Morgan couldn't meet the actor's demands.

The fallout led to a lawsuit filed by Hannibal Pictures, to which Morgan then won a whopping $7 million judgment.
