'Game of Thrones' is dark and filled with discontinued storylines. Since the first season, several characters have been sent away from the series, some with seemingly important roles to play in the existing plots.
One example is Bran Stark, who finally found the three-eyed raven and realized his destiny in Season Four. However, Bran (played by Isaac Hempstead-Wright) was nowhere to be found in the fifth season.
There is another Stark whose fate has been undisclosed. In the third season, Rickon was sent away with his direwolf Shaggydog and the wildling Osha, and has basically disappeared from the show. Fans are now wondering what happened to the youngest Stark boy.
Art Parkinson may have the answer. The young actor who plays Rickon was recently interviewed for Flicks and the City, where he was asked if he knew what happened to his character's little group.
"Oh, I'm not sure, you know," Parkinson responded. "I think the books follow [them] to a cannibal island called Skagos."
He quickly added, "But you never know what [the show's producers] are gonna write."
So will Rickon finally return in the next season?
"I can't really say anything about the character and about me returning," Parkinson said.
Rickon was last seen in the episode "The Bear and the Maiden Fair," where Bran told his youngest brother, "Robb's at war and I'm going beyond the Wall. If something happens to us, you're the heir to Winterfell."
Robb Stark (Richard Madden) has since been murdered by the Freys in the controversial 'Red Wedding' episode.
Parkinson has been busy since his hiatus from 'Game of Thrones.' The actor played Ingreas in the 2014 retelling of the Bram Stoker classic, 'Dracula Untold.' He also appeared in the romantic comedy 'Love, Rosie' and starred alongside Dwayne Johnson in the disaster movie 'San Andreas.'
The sixth season of 'Game of Thrones' will air on HBO in 2016.
