Following Dave Grohl's Injury, Foo Fighters Cancels UK and Europe Tour

American rock band Foo Fighters was forced to cancel their scheduled UK and Europe tour after front man Dave Ghrol accidentally fell off the stage and got his legs fractured last week.

A statement from the band on the Foo Fighters' official website claims that "the doctors have required the cancellation of the remainder of the band's dates in the UK and Europe." The Foo Fighters broke out the news on Tuesday, June 16.

According to reports, the mishap took place during the band's show held at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenberg, Sweden, last June 12, Friday.

The 46-year old rocker apparently lost his footing after crossing the edge of the stage while he was performing. Though Grohl managed to continue performing as the paramedics picked him up, the band still had to cut off the remaining tour dates until he recovers.

Disregarding his busted legs during the event, the singer still appeared in a cheerful spirit and told the crowd, "I think I just broke my leg. I think I really broke my leg."

As he heard the crowd's applause, he continued "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. But right now Taylor Hawkins, you've got to do it."

Dave Ghrol went through surgery on Monday, however his full recovery time is yet to be determined. On Twitter, the Foo Fighters posted an X-ray result showing the current leg condition of the singer. It was captioned, "Thank you Gothenburg. That was amazing."

"The funniest thing happened to me the other day in Sweden," Dave wrote in his letter published on the official Foo Fighters' web site.

He said "So....here I am, recovering with 6 metal screws in my leg, thinking about a lifetime of holding up TSA lines from here to Kalamazoo...damn.".

Aside from being known as the band's lead vocalist, Dave Grohl, who was formerly a member of Nirvana, is also the band's main songwriter and rhythm guitarist.
