Whoopi Goldberg ‘The View’ And Raven-Symone Weigh In On Rachel Dolezal’s Race – What Do They Think?

For years, the show that was once led by Rosie O'Donnell (up until only a few months ago) has faced some of the hottest issues in the world practically on real time, and the Rachel Dolezal situation, when a NAACP leader who was lying about her race was "outed" as white, is no problem for Whoopi Goldberg on "The View."

On this Monday's episode, Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" standing on Dolezal becme clear, as the comedienne led the women in the room with her opinion saying that, if the activist wanted to live life as a black woman, she had no problem with it.

According to The Daily Mail, Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" opinion on the controversial case saw Goldberg truly taken aback with Dolezal's willingness to live the actual full experience of being a black woman, saying that, if she had been living as a black woman for more than five years, she was truly committed to the experience.

"If she wants to be black, she can be black," said Goldberg. "Look, just like people say, 'I feel like a man, I feel like a woman, I feel like this.' She wants to be a black woman, fine. Everything that comes with that she is prepared for. Okay."

Since Dolezal's story broke out, there have been many comparisons with Caitlyn Jenner, even prompting the new term "transracial," which is to say being born in one race while feeling like they belong to another one.

In the past, Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" standings on race have seen the Oscar-winning actress in the midst of wild controversy, like her refusal to say that when President Barack Obama was confused for a valet it was racism, saying it was more like stupidity.

CBS News reports that Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" opinion was ultimately backed by the new show's co-host, Raven-Symone, who compared the ordeal to how black women will straighten their hairs every day to appear whiter, and that if this was the case, someone on the other side of the spectrum could do the same.

According to The Wrap, co-host Rosie Perez opposed at first, saying many people had a problem with how she was lying to black youths, but ultimately it was Whoopi Goldberg's "The View" opinion that prevailed.
