JK Rowling Reveals American Version Of Hogwarts

J.K. Rowling confirmed through her official Twitter account that there is a US-based school of wizardry similar to that of Hogwarts and Potterheads will have the change to take a glimpse of it in the upcoming prequel of the Harry Potter series.

The British author gave fans a hint that the American Hogwarts might be present in the film 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'. The blockbuster author is currently screenwriting for the first film of the planned trilogy of the book published in 2001.

Rowling confirmed the information and said that the main character Newt Scamander will be played by Oscar winner, Eddie Redmayne. Scamander is a Hogwarts alum who ends up in an undisclosed place in the US.

When asked about the specific name for the school for young witches and wizards, the author didn't give enough information. She said that it will be revealed in the near future.

Rowling and Warner Bros. will be working on the film, which is set 70 years before the generation of Harry Potter began. The pressure is on for the team since the Harry Potter series is listed as one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

The first film in the series will be set mostly in New York just before the Magizoologist Scamander sets out on his journey to study various magical creatures. He then begins writing the book that becomes required reading for Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger, Ron Weasley and the gang in the books and films.

Rowling wrote the fantasy book after the Harry Potter series. Most of the earnings were donated to the poor children from different places around the globe.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 18, 2016. It will also be directed by David Yates, who also helmed the Harry Potter series.
