No one would have thought that an insect could inspire world-renowned shoe designer Christian Louboutin's new nail polish collection. The creative genius pushed expectations again as he releases his new nail polish collection along with a new shoe design.
Louboutin took inspiration from Egypt's most sacred symbols for the new line, the scarab beetle. The scarab beetle is commonly interpreted in amulets, stamp seals, and jewelry during the time of ancient Eygpt.
The limited edition collection called Scarabée boasts of three new luminous shades, which were taken from the beetle's iridescent shell. "They can look beautiful and reflective under the sun but also look like a precious jewel by night," Louboutin said.
Louboutin is releasing the Scarabée pump, also a limited edition item. The stiletto boasts the same iridescent colors as those of the polish and the scarab beetle itself.
The pointed toe carries a metallic blue tip, before it grades into a metallic emerald green at the heel. Keeping in line with the inspiration of ancient Eygpt, the pump also features studs reminiscent of the pyramids on the pointed toe.
Christian Louboutin also revealed some teasers for the new collection on his Instagram. The first snap features the man himself in an all white tuxedo suit carrying a large version of the new nail paint color. The backdrop boasts of Eygptian ruins covered in hieroglyphics.
The snap was captioned, "Shhh, you're the first to know...something beautiful is on its way! Can you guess the inspiration behind Christian Louboutin's latest creation for #BeauteLouboutin? Stay tuned for an auspicious debut this June!"
The nail polish costs $50 per bottle. Fans and fashionistas can grab the new Beaute Louboutin collection in stores or at the website beginning June 15.
