Rita Wilson Carpet: Tom Hanks’ Wife Makes Tony’s Appearance, First Red Carpet Since Breast Cancer Announcement [PHOTOS]

Only a few weeks back and not long after Angelina Jolie's announcement that she'd gone through a hysterectomy, Tom Hanks' actress wife came out to speak publicly about her own fight with breast cancer - and now, less than two months before opening up about her illness, Rita Wilson's carpet appearance has fans sighing in relief.

The actress was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had to go through a double mastectomy as well as a reconstruction, pulling back from a Broadway engagement in "Fish in the Dark" while she recovered - but as she was accompanied by her stepson Colin Hanks (who looks just like Oscar-winning dad Tom) at the Tony Awards last weekend, Rita Wilson's carpet appearance made her shine all over the Radio City Music Hall.

According to Yahoo! Celebrity, Rita Wilson's carpet appearance marked the first time she was seen at a major event since her diagnosis and surgery, and the 58 year-old was quick to say that she was healthy now.

Us Weekly reports that Rita Wilson's carpet appearance saw the "Sleepless in Seattle" actress wearing a black dress designed by Tom Ford, with a double-scoop neckline - and, in all, looking absolutely ravaging, particularly for a recent cancer survivor.

"I feel great," the actress told E! Online during Rita Wilson's carpet appearance, as she was accompanied by her actor stepson Colin. "When you're doing a Broadway show, you have a family at the theater and you have a family at home, and I had so much love during the whole process. I am very, very grateful."

Besides making an appearance for the first time since her cancer announcement, the actress was also one of the presenters for the show, presenting the award for Best Direction of a Play for Marianne Elliott's "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time."

Congratulations to the actress on the first Rita Wilson carpet appearance after her heavy health ordeal!
