Target Sneakily Announced Designer Collaboration With Adam Lippes [PHOTOS]

Only two weeks after its announcement of the designer collaboration with Eddie Borgo, Adam Lippes signs on as another designer is slated to collaborate with Target.

The New York-based designer announced the news on his Instagram account Thursday. He captioned the snap, "All about plaid. #comingsoon. @TARGET #adamlippesfortarget."

Lippes' designs often feature simple yet quirky pieces on the apparel. Some knit, tassels, huge silhouettes and floppy peplum is typically to be expected from the designer. However, the fall collection for Target is going in a different direction. Taking inspiration from buffalo plaid, it will feature a lot of black, white and a few reds. Basically, the collection centers on an "epic plaid takeover," as Target says.

A press release from Target, via NY Mag, states that the first collaboration will drop on September 27 this year. Clothes, accessories, home goods, and pet accessories comprise of over 50 pieces.

Target-goers can expect to find Coke bottles and Band-Aids covered in plaid patterns. The items will retail between $20 to $130 for apparel, and $40 to $50 for shoes and accessories.

It seems as though Adam Lippes might have his hands tied. This announcement follows the launch of his Net-a-Porter capsule collection just a few weeks apart.

Lippes' Fall 2015 collection is a far cry of design from this upcoming collaboration. It featured "a colorful floral photoprint" that took inspiration from Philip-Lorca diCorcia's work. While his Fall 2014 collection did feature "several plaid pieces," as described by Style.com.

On the other hand, Eddie Borgo's collection with Target will be released next week, on July 12. It will feature handbags and a jewelry line inspired by a playful Do-It-Yourself aesthetic.
