The marriage between Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith has been going strong for nearly two decades, and they're one of the most stable couples in Hollywood after having met on the set of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" when the actress auditioned to play Smith's girlfriend.
Although she didn't get the part then, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith became friends at that point and then started dating in 1995, marrying in 1997; they've had two children, 14 year-old Willow and infamous 16 year-old Jaden, who have become famous on their own account over their own projects, and mostly over their often-satirized comments.
Now, according to The Independent, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith make headlines after the "Matrix: Reloaded" actress spoke to celebrity radio host Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show, as she was asked about how they were making things work for their marriage to last 18 years, a true rarity in Hollywood.
Hollywood Life reports that there has been wide speculation that Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith have an open marriage for a few years now, after the "Gotham" actress told Oprah Winfrey that she didn't mind if her DC Comics villain husband was with another woman "as long as he could look himself in the mirror."
As a follow-up to these comments, Vibe reports that Stern asked about whether the rumors of Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith's open marriage were true.
"Here's the deal, Howard," said Jada when asked about her long-running marriage. "You've gotta trust who you're with. Here's what I trust: The man that Will is... is a man of integrity. He's got all the freedom in the world. As long as Will can look himself the mirror and be okay? I'm good."
Of course, this hardly puts rumors about a possible Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith open relationship to bed, but it does make one thing clear: the two have a very strong marriage based on trust!
