NASA Flying Saucer Mars: USA Tests Low-Density Supersonic Decelerator For Mars Colonization – Shaped As Flying Saucer! [PHOTOS]

Conspiracy theorists all over the world have been obsessing over supposed flying saucers from other planets flying into Earth for many decades, and there have been a number of hoaxes over the years regarding this type of supposed spaceships - but NASA's flying saucer for Mars is definitely real!

While the ship's full name is actually the Low-Density Supersonic Decelerator, the project has become a trending topic worldwide as NASA's flying saucer for Mars, as it's about to go through its first major test to ultimately be launched into our neighboring red planet, as it's widely known that's the future of NASA.

According to Yahoo! News, NASA's flying saucer for Mars is one of many ongoing projects to pursue the ultimate goal of sending humans to Mars in the 1930s decade, and it's aimed at helping heavy and fast-moving crafts to touch down on the red planet.

Because the atmosphere in our neighboring planet is so thin, spacecrafts reaching that destination need to be particularly strong, which is why the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is currently giving this NASA flying saucer for Mars its first try, as the idea is to improve it until the conditions are fine for it to softly land on Mars without any dangers to astronauts or cosmonauts.

NBC News reports that the NASA flying saucer for Mars, also known as the LDSD, incorporates an inflatable device called the Supersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator plus a parachute that should be able to endure wind speeds in the supersonic velocity - all of which sounds straight out of science fiction!

It wouldn't be the first time in recent memory that technology from science fiction inspires real-life scientific creations, and only a few weeks ago it was reported that there are rumors that NASA's also on the brink of developing warp technology, based on "Star Trek."

According to Forbes, the first NASA flying saucer for Mars trial will be this Thursday after being postponed twice over "unfavorable conditions" - and the stream will start at 1:30 pm EDT!
