New Company Plans to Rival With Sony On Video Game Streaming

A new company called GameFly is on their mission to compete with Sony when it comes to the business of streaming video games. Fortune Magazine online said that the company started as a site where gamers could rent their video games. The company now aimst to partner with Amazon and have a cloud-based game subscription service to enhance their company's offerings.

The company is looking like they are going after Netflix's footsteps in doing cloud-based business, after recently buying Playcast Media Systems to start streaming games with the help of Amazon Fire TV. This just made them a new rival of the Sony's PlayStation Now streaming experience.

Famous tech site Gizmodo also has a cover of this news explaining what the role of  GameFly is, to avid gamers. With GameFly, one can rent favorite games from Xbox, Playstation and even Nintendo with their platform. The only drawback is that their system works slow. The good news is that the company has already figured out how they could make their service faster and more convenient to their clients and the solution is to make their products available in the cloud using Amazon Fire TV.

According to PC World, the company will have a number of packages  available when it comes to their streaming games and most of their prices would go around $7 a month. Just like how Sony PlayStation Now handles their graphics, this matter is assigned in remote servers to come out as compressed video. This will make gamers appreciate the game on their hardware.

As of the moment, the company only has 35 games available for streaming and gamers could have them in a bundle according to their genre. Ars Technica tested the company's system and have found some lag time occurrence and some loopholes to dismiss it immediately. But the company is still improving it and has even promised that it will be available to other devices as soon as they have fixed what's needed to be fixed.
