Microsoft confirms their new technology venture that promises to provide unlimited and hassle free wireless internet around the world is currently underway. A spokesperson verified the existence of this innovative project.
"We can confirm that we are working on a new service, called Microsoft Wi-Fi, that will bring hassle-free Wi-Fi to millions," said the spokesperson.
The new app that offers stress-free Internet access in any location around the globe has a similar concept to Skype Wi-Fi. Microsoft developed the latter to allow people to use Internet hotspots around the world and pay for the service using Skype credit.
With this new strategy they are developing, many will be able to access more Wi-Fi points and become more efficient and online wherever, whenever.
The multinational technology company looks forward to revealing the full details of their project. Microsoft Wi-Fi was first noticed by one Twitter user who also discovered Microsoft Earn, which is a rewards system for customers in selected US stores.
The app will be supported in all major operating systems besides Microsoft, including Mac, Android, iOS, and Windows phone.
The app would be first available to active subscribers of Skype Wi-Fi, employees or any organization that uses the services of Microsoft Office 365. The company will also choose random customers to avail of special offers.
More than 2 million users have been using Skype Wi-Fi since its inception. This number is expected to go even higher after Microsoft Wi-Fi's launch.
Skype Wi-Fi's pay-after service using Skype credit would be the same concept to be applied for the Microsoft Wi-Fi in the future.
Microsoft, however, clarified that that the app will not be for free and interested parties would have to pay a certain amount for it. The tech giant company has not yet confirmed the cost of the service or if subscription plans will be able.
