Eddie Redmayne Potter: Oscar Winner Playing Newt Scamander In ‘Harry Potter’ Spinoff ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them’!

Fresh off his Oscar win earlier this year over his astounding portrayal of physics genius Stephen Hawking, now the "Theory of Everything" actor's taking a much less physically demanding role although certainly filled with magic, as Eddie Redmayne's Potter spinoff appearance is confirmed!

Following the massive success of the "Harry Potter" franchise (the books as well as the movies), it was recently announced that there'd be an adaptation to "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," one of the Hogwarts schoolbooks - and it'll mark the first-ever Eddie Redmayne Potter appearance!

Besides making stars out of then child actors such as Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Matthew Lewis, the original "Harry Potter" films included some of the biggest and most important actors and actresses in the United Kingdom like Dame Maggie Smith, actor-director Kenneth Branagh, Emma Thompson, Gary Oldman and even "Game of Thrones" actresses Natalia Tena and Michelle Fairley.

According to BBC, the world created by J.K. Rowling is adding another Oscar winner to the mix with Eddie Redmayne's Potter casting, in a film set a full 90 years before the events of the first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

Metro reports that Eddie Redmayne's Potter role is that of Newt Scamander, the first-ever magizoologist in the world and as such one of its most important wizards, having written the book "Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them," which was one of the schoolbooks in the "Harry Potter" universe as well as having been published in 2001 as a tie-in to the beloved series about the boy wizard.

Rowling herself wrote the screenplay for the movie, the first time she's done this for one of her works.

"Eddie Redmayne has emerged as one of today's most extraordinarily talented and acclaimed actors," said Greg Silverman, the WB President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production, to Screen Rant. "We are thrilled to welcome him into J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World, where we know he will deliver a remarkable performance as Newt Scamander, the central character in 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.'"

Hogwarts wannabe students will be able to catch Eddie Redmayne's Potter debut on November 18th, 2016.
