'San Andreas' Crushes 'Aloha,' Shakes up 'Tomorrowland' and 'Pitch Perfect 2' At Weekend Box Office

The disaster movie 'San Andreas' is shaking things up for George Clooney and Anna Kendrick at the box office, leaving Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper in the dust.

According to Rentrak, Dwayne Johnson's follow-up to the highly successful 'Furious 7' just made $53.2 million over the weekend, just small change compared to his previous movie's earnings. 'Furious 7' grossed more than $147million on its opening weekend alone, and went on to make $1.506 billion worldwide.

'San Andreas' stars Johnson as Ray Gaines, a search and rescue helicopter pilot for the Los Angeles Fire Department. When the San Andreas Fault starts to shift and cause a massive earthquake, Gaines has to save his estranged wife and daughter before the city falls apart.

In stark contrast, the Cameron Crowe comedy only made $10 million since its premiere on May 29, a disappointing start in its effort to win back the $37 million budget. The film is about defense contractor Brian Gilcrest (Cooper), who is sent to Hawaii to oversee the launch of a weapons satellite. There he meets and falls for an Air Force pilot named Allison Ng (Stone).

'Pitch Perfect 2' is still doing well, nabbing the second place in the box office weekend. The Anna Kendrick comedy musical earned another $14.8 million, raising its total gross to a cool $147.5 million.

George Clooney's 'Tomorrowland' is struggling to sell more tickets. The sci-fi adventure only made $13.8 million this weekend, bringing up its total earnings to $63.2 million.

There is no stopping 'Mad Max: Fury Road.' Although it only made $13.6 million during the weekend, it currently adds up to a total of $115.9 million in the box office.

Marvel's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' is still bringing in the big money. It made an additional $10.9 million over the weekend, which brings its grand box office total to an astonishing $427.1 million.
