ASAP Rocky In Hot Water after he Disses Rita Ora on Latest Album

Harlem based Rapper ASAP Rocky (real name: Rakim Myers) has drawn the ire of the music world for including offensive lyrics aimed at British pop star Rita Ora in his new song 'Better Things'.

Rocky surprised his fans when he made his highly anticipated third album 'At.Long.Last.A$AP (A.L.L.A)' available this Tuesday, almost a week ahead of its scheduled June 2 release. The album is a follow up to 2013's 'Long. Live. A$AP.'

The album is a star studded affair with collaborations from Kanye West, Rod Stewart, Mark Ronson and even actor James Franco. However the release has been marred by the controversy surrounding "Better Things."

On the track, the rapper, sings about an alleged sexual encounter with Ora. News outlets around the world slammed the 26 year old for the offensive lyrics. The Independent labelled it 'misogynistic' while MTV called the song 'very disrespectful'. Fans on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook have also voiced their displeasure at the song.

Prior to the album's release no reports or rumours had ever surfaced regarding a relationship between ASAP Rocky and Ora. Ora and her representatives have yet to release an official statement on the matter.

Earlier today, Rocky appeared on Sway in the Morning, a popular radio show, to speak out on the controversy. When asked by host Sway Calloway why he chose to release the controversial lyrics, Rocky responded:

First off, it's an old song. It's one of the older songs on the album. But what I will say is I got into a lot of trouble over her at times when I didn't need to, because she caused a lot of grief. So at that time, for me, it was just like...you know. I said what I said.
