Little Yasmeen has a plan for a better world, and it appears that the President of the United States likes her suggestion, and used the Obama phone to access Twitter.
The "5 almost 6 year old" recently wrote a simple letter to President Barack Obama, with two requests about world peace and marriage equality.
"Please stop war for our world, instead have a meeting," the little girl wrote. "Please give a speech to tell everyone they can marry who they want. Thank you"
The handwritten letter was tweeted by Yasmeen's aunt, who goes by the Twitter name @DrFahmida. The psychologist, who is also an assistant professor, posted the pictures with the caption, "@POTUS A letter from my 5 year old niece. Right out of the mouths of babes!"
@POTUSA is Obama's Twitter handle, and the account currently has 2.46 million followers. The President's Twitter account was only created this May and has only posted seven tweets so far. One of these rare tweets was a response to Yasmeen's letter. Obama wrote, "@DrFahmida tell your niece I really like her letter. Couldn't agree more!"
The 44th President of the United States is also the first African American to be elected into the office. Before his election, he was a civil rights attorney who taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School. Obama is also the Nobel Peace Prize laureate of 2009. He was reelected in 2013 and is firmly in favor of same-sex marriage.
The current President's First Lady is also a firm supporter of changing the world. Michelle Obama was recently in the news for her commencement address at Oberlin College in Ohio. The First Lady told the graduates to remember their civic duties and to seek out opportunities to make a change.
Little Yasmeen might not have heard the First Lady's speech, but she sure has found a way to try and make a change.
