Harry Shearer Net Worth: Mr. Burns, Principal Skinner And Ned Flanders Voice Leaves ‘The Simpsons’ And Walks Away From MILLIONS

The longest-running show on television has lost one of its key cast members, as he voiced some of the most iconic characters such as Principal Skinner, the Simpsons' friendly neighbor and Homer's nemesis Ned Flanders and even Mr. Burns and Smithers - but how big is Harry Shearer's net worth after leaving the show?

After being in the air for 26 years and even a move, "The Simpsons" is the longest scripted show on television history, as well as the longest-running animated show and sitcom in the United States, and Harry Shearer's net worth proves that he's been there every step of the way - but no more.

Recently, the show was renewed for two more seasons, marking the 27th and 28th, following long contractual discussions between producers and the show's stars; but it seems like Harry Shearer's net worth is already high enough for him and he's not willing to continue on the show after nearly three decades.

BBC reports that the voice actor leaving the show wasn't at all about Harry Shearer's net worth, as he's taken to Twitter to dismiss reports that he wasn't offered enough money to continue the show; instead, it seems he walked out to be able to pursue other projects of his own in other realms, as he wanted more freedom to work on whatever he chose to without the restrains of having to do voiceover work for his numerous characters.

According to CNN, though, the deal would have greatly boosted Harry Shearer's net worth, as he was offered an astounding $14 million offer to stay in the show for the next two seasons, which he declined.

Besides his work in the Fox show, Shearer is also a comedian, writer, actor, director and radio host - so it's understandable that he was getting wanderlust after having the same job for so many years.

Currently, Celebrity Net Worth reports that Harry Shearer's net worth stands at $65 million, and at the time he left the show he was earning $300 thousand per episode in Springfield.
