The theater release of the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film to date, "Avengers: Age of Ultron," is approaching, bringing back the Earth's Mightiest Heroes all together for a second time around; as the world of the movieverse gets further development, there's a new Baron Zemo actor!
While the main focus of "Captain America: Civil War" will be, as the title suggests, a war among the biggest superheroes in the MCU, there still needs to be an outside threat for the Earth's mightiest heroes, and that's where the Baron Zemo actor, Daniel Bruhl, comes in, taking on the role of the Nazi superhero, one of the biggest foes Captain America has dealt with in the comics.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Baron Zemo actor confirmed he'd be taking on the role of the Nazi villain in the third "Captain America" installment, and he'll be playing the second version of the character, Baron Helmut Zemo.
In a recent interview with The Independent, Bruhl confirmed he was the Baron Zemo actor after months of rumors surrounding the casting of the villain.
Bruhl, a German-Spanish actor, has been in a number of films in the past, working in the two languages mentioned plus English; before becoming the Baron Zemo actor, other credits in his filmography include the popular 2003 German film nominated for a Golden Globe "Good Bye Lenin!" as well as playing the Nazi actor in "Inglourious Basterds" - however, his biggest role so far has been as Niki Lauda in the Formula 1 film "Rush," where he co-starred with another Marvel actor, Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth.
According to Vulture, the character of Baron Zemo is deformed and part of a Nazi dynasty (though he's also worked for HYDRA in the past), and Bruhl has described him as a "total asshole."
The new Baron Zemo actor marks one more amazing casting choice in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
