For the past few months, the fast casual food company that started out as a food cart 15 years ago and has turned into a major powerhouse has been shaming fast food chains with its high salaries and employees benefits, all while residents of the West Coast dream of their own Shake Shack locations ... and now, California will get its first one!
In the past, Food World News has reported on some of the major news regarding Shake Shack locations, from when it went public in late January to a higher price than expected to how it's become the most sought-after Instagram account for the industry, which marks millennials' preference for it.
Now, Eater reports that there was a recent announcement from the company about new Shake Shack locations, and it seems they'll be introducing their burger restaurant chain to West Hollywood, within Los Angeles County, at some point of 2016.
The announcement about the new Shake Shack locations came through a statement on their website, as they explained that the new venue of the famous burgers would be at the very heart of the city, in the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and West Knoll Drive, only one block west of iconic La Cienega Boulevard.
"We've heard from our West Coast fans for years that they'd love a Shake Shack in California, and at long last, we're delighted to say Shake Shack LA is on its way," said Randy Garutti, the CEO of the company, upon the announcement of the new Shake Shack locations. "Los Angeles is one of the greatest cities in the world with a culture like no other, and we look forward to being a part of the community."
As QZ reports, Shake Shack will be meeting with some tough competition in the West Coast city, including the iconic In-N-Out, Unami Burger and Smashburger - but it doesn't make the announcement of the new Shake Shack locations any less exciting for Los Angelenos!
