Following the widely publicized issue with Memories Pizza last week, when the owners said they agreed with the infamous law that allowed business owners to discriminate over sexuality and gender identity, many stars stood up in favor of what's right - including the guys from "Scrubs," and Zach Braff's Indiana pizza statement couldn't not include TV BFF Donald Faison!
Last Monday, Food World News reported that the owners of the now-infamous pizza joint, Memories Pizza, had been forced to shut down the business after receiving a wave of criticism when one of the owners stated they wouldn't cater a gay wedding, which prompted a group of conservatives to raise money for them in a move to keep the family from being a victim of liberal persecution; now, Zach Braff's Indiana pizza tweet shows that celebrities are willing to do what's right in the funniest way possible.
Other celebrities who have spoken out against the Indiana law include Ashton Kutcher, Miley Cyrus, "C.S.I.: Cyber" star James Van Der Beek and most famously "Star Trek" actor George Takei; but Zach Braff's Indiana pizza photo could be the funniest one of them all!
According to The Huffington Post, the Zach Braff Indiana pizza tweet was a reference to the show that featured him and Faison for almost ten years: in the show, they both played doctor BFFs (Braff played J.D. and Faison, Turk) with a heavy "bromance" between them, something that became the center of many jokes in the show's 9-year run.
"If you really and truly want pizza for your gay wedding in Indiana... We will make it for you. @donald_faison," was Zach Braff Indiana pizza's reaction, according to People Magazine, as he posted on Twitter last week with the picture of the two actors.
Before the Indiana religious freedom law scandal, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling had also taken to Twitter to discuss gay rights, when a follower and fan of the series asked why she'd made character Dumbledore gay if he didn't seem it and the author replied that gay people are just people.
In any case, if you're now catering a gay wedding, don't forget to call the Zach Braff Indiana pizza!
