Adam West Batman Movie With Burt Ward In The Works – New Animated 60s Batman Ahead!

Though a favorite at the time of its release, the 1960s Batman series is considered a major fail for fans of the DC Comics hero, as it features a very campy version of a character that's been written since its beginning as a dark one - however, there's still an audience for the classic show, so much so that there'll be a new Adam West Batman movie.

The actor, who played Bruce Wayne in the original film, has already rejoined his Robin Burt Ward in the past, as the two embarked on an Adam West Batman movie in 2003, where they played themselves as older actors who've played Batman and Robin in the past solving a mystery against many of the actors who played villains in the original show.

Now, according to CNN, a new Adam West Batman movie is on the way, although this time it's an animated one. The two 60s megastars, both well into their golden years, announced the news at a recent joint appearance.

CNet reports that the new Adam West Batman movie was announced during the Mad Monster Party fan convention at North Carolina earlier this week, as they both shared a little bit about the plans for the 50th anniversary of the show.

"You can look forward to a new animated Batman full-length 90-minute feature coming out on the 50th anniversary," said Ward to the audience during the fan convention, according to The Guardian. "One of possibly two - but for sure one - that Adam and I are going to be doing the voices for."

The original series ran between 1966 and 1968, and featured some of the most amazing guest stars in the history of television, including Eartha Kitt as Catwoman (one of three different actress to play the role in the show and the original Adam West Batman movie), Cesar Romero as The Joker, Eli Wallach as Mr. Freeze, Vincent Price as Egghead and Anne Baxter as Olga, Queen of Cossacks.

Let's wait for the next Adam West Batman movie news!
