Kraft Macaroni & Cheese: 242,000 Cases Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Recalled For Probable Metal Pieces

242,000 cases of 7.25-oz. Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner are being recalled by Kraft Foods Group after investigations revealed that they may contain small metal pieces. The revelation was announced on Monday for the products with best when used by dates of Sept. 18, 2015 to Oct.11, 2015.

Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner original flavor with code C2 (code of production line) reflected below the date will be collected.  According to Food Safety News, there had been eight cases of consumer complaints but there were no reported illnesses associated with the product.

"We believe a piece of stainless steel got wedged in a metal piece of equipment, which may have generated friction that resulted in small pieces of metal potentially falling into the product," Kraft spokesperson Joyce Hodel said in a statement.

Earlier before Kraft Macaroni & Cheese contamination has been reported, the company has recalled 7,700 Kraft American Singles varieties when a supplier was not able to store one of its ingredients the right way.

Aside from the 7.25-oz. Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner being recalled, other packages collected are: 3-pack box of 7.25-oz original flavor, 4-pack shrink wrap of 7.25-oz original flavor and 5-pack shrink-wrap 7.25-oz original flavor boxes, KTLA reported.

Recall of Kraft products with the same complaint already happened four years ago. In September of 2011, there had been more or less 137,000 cases of Velveta Shells and Cheese single-serve cups recalled due to probable contamination of tiny, thin wire bristles, Fortune cited.

If anyone has purchased the Kraft Macaroni & Cheese product, please immediately return the product for refund or exchange of product.  You can also notify Kraft Foods Consumer Relations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1-800-816-9432 for full refund.
