Alexander The Great Treasure Found In Israel … 2,300 Years Later! [PHOTOS]

In an amazing new discovery by archeologists in Israel, they've run into a set of coins from about 2,300 years ago, a true Alexander the Great treasure, as it means the first major discovery of currency from the time of the Macedonian conqueror and military genius.

Only a few days ago, Food World News reported the discovery of two lost cities in Honduras, which had been abandoned for at least 600 years after its civilization perished probably due to the Europeans' bacteria; now, the discovery of the Alexander the Great treasure sets a new landmark in the study of ancient history!

According to The Telegraph, cave explorers in the Middle East nation of Israel were the ones who discovered the Alexander the Great treasure, which is thought to have been hidden by foreign refugees during a time of war somewhere in ancient times, long before the fall of the Roman Empire, which is considered the historic landmark where Classic Antiquity ended and the Middle Ages began.

CNN reports that the discovery of the Alexander the Great treasure came at the hands of a group of cave explorers from the Israeli Caving Club, led by a man called Hen Zakai: upon a first glance in his exploration, he found two ancient silver coins that were meant to be hidden - and the job had been done so well that they were kept a secret for over 2,000 years.

The Alexander the Great treasure contained coins and different kinds of jewelry, in something that's been considered one of the major discoveries of the time, and will help reevaluate the history of Israel.

Discovery reports that the treasure was found in a cave filled with stalactite in northern Ireland, according to a statement made by the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) earlier this week.

The findings contain coins, three rings, five earrings, an oil lamp made out of clay and four bracelets - a true Alexander the Great treasure.
