Author Empowers Readers Through Personal Journey

Many poems are works of self-inflection and self-discovery, spurred from personal experiences, and taking on a form similar to the confessional poetry made famous by such prolific poets as Sylvia Plath and Robert Lowell. Anna Jane Wilson’s inspiration for “A Leap of Faith for Mankind & Mother Earth” (published by Balboa Press) has a very powerful and inspiring story unto itself. “By chance, at age 22, I wrote my first rhythmic entry or ‘poem.’ I was residing in a one bedroom lonely flat in London dealing with my father’s rejection of me. I was about to succumb to an attack of bulimia. Instead I picked up a pen and wrote my first prose. At its conclusion, I felt elated and my despair dissolved. The name of the prose popped into my head called ‘Energy.’ The writing speaks of mastering one’s own energy.”

“A Leap of Faith for Mankind and Mother Earth” is Wilson’s non-fictional story of inspirational works containing soulful rhythmic writings in the form of poetry and prose, presented in chronological order. The first section, “Love, Hate & Mental Debate” takes the reader through her journey of heartbreak, disease, depression, confusion and fear, to which many will relate.

In the second section, “A Leap of Faith,” Wilson shares with readers the most profound challenge of her life -- the fate of her unborn child. “As birth and death unite, my soul is jolted into a new realm of existence in my heart and it is here that I find my courage and experience ‘a leap of faith’,” she explains.

The final section of her poetry, “Destiny Calling from the Pits of Thy Soul” exposes the rawness of her being as she becomes awakened to her inner emotions. As her story unfolds, she draws comparisons to Mother Earth as she pieces together the similarities between the human self and Mother Nature.

Wilson’s ultimate goal with her book is for readers to see in action the true power of love and how it can help to overcome and heal many challenges in one’s life along their own journey.
