Born on January 21, 1940, Jack Williams Nicklaus is the son of Helen and Charlie Nicklaus from Columbus Ohio. He was introduced to golf when his loving father was looking to recover a broken ankle. While his father was busy with his ankle, Jack showed his prodigy in golf, shooting a fifty one over 9 holes at the age of ten at Scioto Country Club. Since then, he was tutored and trained in the same country club by golf professional Jack Grout to become even more knowledgeable and professional in the sport.
At the age of 16, we won his first battle in golf at the Ohio Open. Next year, he won again at the International Jaycee Junior Golf Tournament. While he was a student at Ohio State University, he won the title at the US Amateur in year 1959 and the NCAA Championship 1961. Jack as well served notice to being one of the top players in golf through finishing 2nd at the US Open in 1960 with an amateur -record score of two hundred eighty two. In November 1961, he turned a real professional in the sport.

He and Jack both won most of the PGA Championships.
