HARRIS WITTELS DEAD: “Humblebrag” Dead At 30! LA Police Links Death To Drug Overdose!

Harris Wittels, dead- The only son of Dr. Ellison and Maureen Wittels bid goodbye early at the age of 30.  Building his own name as the co-executive producer of NBC's "Parks and Recreation," the comedian- writer was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Thursday, Feb. 20 for suspected drug overdose.

On a call to 911 by Wittels' assistant, Los Angeles Police Department responded on a possible drug overdose report.

 According to TIME, the 30-year-old talented writer-producer was found unresponsive by his assistant around 12 noon of Thursday. It was pronounced that Harris Wittels dead at the scene. The cause of his death is still be under investigation.  

On Harris Wittels Twitter, he wrote to describe himself as someone "who loves chillin, hangng out, havin fun and just f****n chillin."

Harris Wittels is widely known as an actor, comedian, musician, writer and producer. He became popular for writing "The Sarah Silverman Program" and for writing and co-producing "Parks and Recreation." He also regularly appeared in the podcast Comedy Bang Bang.

Harris Wittels, dead at the age of 30 was unexpected. Although the "Humblebrag" writer had been very open about his struggle with drug addiction since he was 12 and his entry to rehabilitation twice.

TMZ reported that before he was found dead on Thursday, the 30-year-old performed on a standup comedy show "The Meltdown" on Wednesday night.

 He even spoke about his being clean and sober and that he was in a   good place, which indicated a different scenario when authorities found Harris Wittels dead.

Harris Wittels is credited for coining the word 'humblebrag' that gained its fame in the social media.  He defined the word as the act of boasting about your life and then downplaying it. He then wrote and published "Humblebrag: The Art of False Modesty" in 2012.

Prior to the incident when authorities found Harris Wittels dead, he had been very vocal about his drug usage in the podcast "You Made it Weird" with host Pete Holmes. He confessed that he was into drugs since he was 12 when he was heartbroken.

He admitted that he wrote his book Humblebrag while he was heavily under the influenced on drugs, saying that's humblebrag!

As The Guardian noted, Wittels was set to perform with his band "Don't Stop Or We'll Die" on Feb. 28 at UCB Sunset.  Harris Wittels dead before the final episode of Parks and Recreation was even aired in US on Tuesday.

Many have mourned when the news came out that Harris Wittels dead. Sarah Silverman claimed on Twitter, "You should know that Harris was brilliant beyond compare," she wrote. "That his imagination was without limit. That he loved comedy more than anything."

Los Angeles Police Department revealed that after they found Harris Wittels dead, it would take six to eight weeks to finally reveal the toxicology report result for his cause of death.
