Princess Diana Wedding: Prince Charles Almost Called Off Marriage To Princess Di, According To New Biography

Over thirty years after Princess Diana's wedding to Charles, Prince of Wales, the mother of William and Harry still creates a world of attention, with every years-old gossip about Diana Spencer making news - including a new biography saying the Prince of Wales wanted to call off his wedding only hours before the big event happened.

For thousands of years, royal families have been focuses of attention in their peoples and abroad, and probably the most popular of all royal additions in the last fifty years was Princess Diana's wedding, an event that was seen in 1981 as coming right out of a fairy tale, even though years later things became more and more complex and tortuous for the couple - and Prince Charles saw it coming.

According to Express, a new biography discussing Princess Diana's wedding to Prince Charles is only about to be released in the United Kingdom, written by Catherine Mayer and entitled "Charles: Heart of a King."

While the Buckingham Palace hasn't authorized the book, the wide fascination with all things Diana has made it the subject of news for the past few days.

As The Mirror reports, prior to his Princess Diana wedding, Charles was entirely desperate and wanted to get out of the engagement; after a short courtship and engagement, he'd only just discovered how complex Spencer really was, instead of the simple country girl he'd hoped to marry and make a family with.

"I always told him afterwards that if it had been a Catholic marriage, it could have been declared null," said a source close to Charles in the book, according to Deccan Chronicle. "Because he wasn't really [committed], because she started with the bulimia and everything before the wedding.

This would be the first account of Charles having doubts about his Princess Diana wedding so early on, while it has been widely reported that Diana herself had told her sisters at the time that she couldn't marry him.
