She's one of the most recognized divas in pop music and among the most successful music artists of all time, with some of Mariah Carey's songs having turned into classics over the years; but, after a series of mishaps including a recent lip syncing incident in a concert, has the singer lost her way?
The woman behind iconic Mariah Carey songs like holiday classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You" seems to be unable to go the full mile with her latest hits, as she struggles to keep it together in concerts and public appearances alike in lip sync disasters.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the latest news from Mariah comes from her recent performance at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival last week, where she was one of the guests of honor - however, last Friday as she performed in the Caribbean island, it became obvious to the audience that Mariah Carey's songs had been previously recorded and she wasn't singing live.
As Perez Hilton reports, this is only the latest example the singer has given of Mariah Carey songs lip sync, and she appears to have been doing this in all of her latest performances.
The singer missed her cues in songs like "Fantasy" and "Always Be My Baby," and the whole thing was caught on video and posted on YouTube for the entire world to see - only a few months before she starts her Las Vegas residence in Caesar's Palace after Céline Dion steps out to take care of her ill husband.
According to The Daily Mail, the famous soprano was obviously struggling throughout her songs, unable to reach the high notes - which is where the lip syncing came in, disappointing the fans that had paid up to $200 to see her debut in the Jamaican festival.
