China Bacon Pollution: Bacon To Blame For Chinese Air Pollution?

When people think of issues with air pollution in different countries, the automatic reference is to China, as many of its cities are supposed to be among the most heavily polluted on the face of the Earth; now, the government has issued a statement saying that, in some cities, the China bacon pollution is to blame for the state of their breathing air.

It's not every day that government officials of a country will blame one of the most popular types of in the world for the way their air has gotten polluted, but that's exactly what the new China bacon pollution statement has shed light on in a southwestern province of the Asian country.

According to Fox News, news of the China bacon pollution reached the rest of the world earlier this week, after officials in the province of Sichuan made a statement where they blamed locals for the new spike in air pollution in the municipality of Dazhou - because they were smoking too much bacon.

The odd bit of China bacon pollution news saw smoking bacon getting banned from the city, in spite of this being a long-standing tradition in Chinese cooking, as generations have taken to their homes during wintertime to smoke the cured pork product, as Digital Journal reports.

Apparently, the region has seen a huge increase in their air pollution over the past few months, up to the point that it's become a dangerous space to breathe in. While foreigners might find it ridiculous to think that bacon could cause such a major disruption, but the fact is that these are heavily populated areas where just about every household will be smoking bacon at about this time of the year - something that could potentially cause an issue.

Global Post reports that the China bacon pollution will be restricted to certain areas of the city; it's a long-standing tradition to cook this before the Chinese lunar new year, which will be on February 19.
