As the year started, Buckingham Palace saw its first scandal in a while, following a few years of a love affair with the press surrounding the much-loved couple of Prince William and Kate Middleton; after the Prince Andrew sex scandal came out, is the Duke of York prepared to speak out for the first time?
The new Prince Andrew sex scandal has been the talk of the town in London for the past few weeks, after a woman named Virginia Roberts came out publicly saying that American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein had used her as a sex slave in her teens to entertain different guests at the time, including the Duke of York, Prince Andrew.
According to The Daily Mail, it seems like the Duke of York might speak out for the very first time about the Prince Andrew sex scandal, as he's made his first public appearance since the claims came out: currently, he's in Davos, Switzerland, for the annual World Economic Forum.
The Guardian reports that Virginia Roberts, the woman who made the Prince Andrew sex scandal public, has made a formal request at a United States court to have Queen Elizabeth's second son respond to her claims under oath.
Roberts' lawyers filed a series of documents in a United States courtroom in Florida, which included a letter to Prince Andrew at Buckingham Palace asking him to appear before court to give testimony under oath, as well as a sworn affidavit that provides new details about her alleged encounters with the royal when she was underage, as she was working under Jeffrey Epstein, who has been recently convicted for soliciting sex with a minor.
Now, according to The Independent, the Prince Andrew sex scandal has been a major subject of conversation in the Davos meeting, as many have suggested that the reason behind the appearance of the Duke of York is him making an official statement in regards of the scandal.
