Jay Leno Bill Cosby: Former ‘Tonight Show’ Host Backs Bill Cosby Sex Scandal Victims

In the midst of the scandal that has taken over the media over the past few months, Jay Leno's Bill Cosby statement was clear when he was asked about where he stood on the allegations against his fellow comedian, stating he definitely backed the women who had spoken out about the iconic funny man.

Following a long career that saw him interviewing the "Cosby Show" star a number of times, the opinion of Jay Leno on Bill Cosby has been finally stated to the public, and the man who took over "The Tonight Show" from Johnny Carson seems amazed at how many women had to speak out before the Cosby rape allegations became notorious.

According to The Huffington Post, Jay Leno's Bill Cosby comments came as he was being interviewed recently, as he passed through the ritual now popular when interviewing comedians: what he thought about the scandal that has seen the iconic family man figure accused of drugging and raping more than a dozen women throughout the years.

People Magazine reports that, although Jay Leno and Bill Cosby seemed to have enjoyed a long friendship over the years, Leno has drawn the line at the rape allegations surrounding the comedian, speaking out about the treatment his victims have gotten during the scandal, saying he can't fathom why it is that it's "so hard to believe women" when accusing a man of sexually assaulting them.

"I don't know why it's so hard to believe women," Leno said, according to CBS News. "I mean, you go to Saudi Arabia, and you need two women to testify against a man. Here, you need 25. Why aren't people listening to these women? Is it because he's so famous? Or is it just because they're women? Because I would say enough have come forward."

The rape allegations have been growing in the spotlight since late last year, when comedian Hannibal Buress spoke of the allegations, gathering a lot of media attention.

The relationship between Jay Leno and Bill Cosby goes back for years, as they've known each other at least since the 1990s.
