Britney Spears' Las Vegas residency, which is making the "Work B!tch" singer earn $475K per performance, has set up a mark for future residencies in the Nevada city; now, the Elton John Las Vegas salary number has been released, and he's actually racking more bucks than the Princess of Pop!
Being one of the most iconic people in the entertainment business as well as one of the richest men in the music business (with a fortune of $440 million when last checked), it's no surprise that Elton John's Las Vegas contract is perhaps the highest in the city residencies, surpassing Britney and possibly the recently confirmed Mariah Carey Caesar's Palace contract for an undisclosed amount.
According to The Daily Mail, Elton John's Las Vegas residency is part of an older contract with iconic Roman-themed Caesar's Palace hotel, after he had to step down from the original contract due to health issues. Starting this Friday, the extension of the three-year agreement will be entertaining 4,296 guests at a time (actually less than Britney's 4,600).
As The Mirror reports, Elton John's Las Vegas return will see the "Yellow Brick Road" star performing his Million Dollar Piano show for 23 days, with tickets that can go up to $1,000 to hear the man behind hits like "Rocket Man" perform his decdes-long repertoire.
Back in 2012, John had to step down from performing in the Las Vegas Caesar's Palace (in a venue that has seen the talents of Celine Dion, Cher and Rod Stewart performing each night) after suffering from a serious respiratory infection that made him go through total rest for a few months, from doctors' orders.
TMZ reports that, besides his abnormally high salary for the show, Elton John's Las Vegas deal also will earn him 88 percent of the door for each show, as well as getting a say on tickets to the shows; the cheapest are currently $55 with the most expensive are $1,000, and he'll be running his show from this Friday until April 14.
