Masha, an adorable long-haired tabby cat is being taken cared by local residents. When hero cat saves baby in the box, she had no second thoughts of staying and keeping the three-month old warm and protected.

"She is very placid and friendly, so when I heard her meowing, I thought that perhaps she had injured herself," Irina Lavrova said. "Normally, she would have come and said hello to me. You can imagine my shock when I saw her lying in a box next to a baby. Clearly her mothering instincts had taken over and she wanted to protect the child."

The hero cat saves baby and local residents were out-of-words when they saw how the hero feline protected the baby.

 Health officials declared the baby safe and sound after the checkup. The baby was covered with hat and had some diapers and baby food when located by the officials, New York Post reported.

Soon the adorable feline was declared as a hero after keeping the three- month baby safe. Russia has sub-zero temperature and it would be hard for the tot to bear such cold. But the hero cat saves baby to make sure the baby will not freeze to death.

Residents have been proud of Masha, the hero cat saves baby. Meanwhile, a hospital official declared that the baby had been exposed only outside only for few hours and they are very thankful to Masha that she did everything to save the baby.

Russian authorities are now searching for the mother of the baby who was left outside in the freezing temperature.
