Bill Cosby Performs In Canada Despite Protests And Lawsuits

Despite the pending lawsuits that could see him arrested and put to jail and protesters outside of the venue, comedian Bill Cosby carry on with his show in Ontario, Canada as part of his three night performance. The comedian who is currently facing sexual abuse charges from several women said at an interview that he had a "wonderful time" and is set to continue the remaining leg of his North American tour.

To date, Cosby's show in Kitchener, Ontario was his first ever performance since last Nov. after a series of lawsuits ranging from sexual abuse to defamation forced the comedian to cancel most of shows for his North American tour. Cosby's last show was in Melbourne, Florida last Nov. 21, he performed at the sold out Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts and the comedian finished his routine to a series of applause and a crowd in standing ovation.

After the show in Kitcher, Cosby's publicist releases the following official statement "Dear Fans: I would like to personally thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring laughter back into your lives tonight. Also I would like to applaud all of you and give you a standing ovation for respecting yourselves, the theater (Center In The Square) and the event organizers that produced a spectacular show for the Kitchener Community."

The scandal the comedian currently faces has definitely hurt his appeal to some of his fans, reports shows that some people who has previously bought tickets for the show decided not to show up and boycott the Cosby's performance to show their protest. Some people were also reported to have brought their protest to the streets, some were carrying placards with messages "rape is no joke", and some protesters also targeted the fans who attended the show by shouting "shame on you" to them. Police officers and security guards were then posted outside of the venue after some protesters barricaded the entrance to the venue in order to prevent attendees from going in.
