It's certainly an interesting year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the people responsible for superheroes like "Captain America" and "Iron Man" have two films coming out this year, as well as at least three series; and now, the "Daredevil" Netflix series premiere has been announced!
Things aren't only working out for Marvel in 2015, but it is also a great year for on-demand streaming service Netflix, as it's planning more than a dozen new shows for 2015, as well as specials, documentaries and television movies; now, they've officially announced the "Daredevil" Netflix series premiere date.
Fans of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Netflix line of programming have their first present of 2015: the "Daredevil" Netflix series premiere! According to Vox, last Wednesday January 7, the website announced air dates for some of their upcoming shows, splitting it between drama, action and comedy; among the other air dates announced were the award-winning Kevin Spacey political drama "House of Cards" and the new Tina Fey show "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."
According to NME, the "Daredevil" Netflix series premiere will actually hit screens a lot earlier than previously thought: on April 10, 2015 - barely four months away!
"Daredevil" will, of course, be a part of the ongoing big project entitled the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes the "Avengers" movies (like this year's "Ant-Man" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron"), ABC shows "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and the recently released "Marvel's Agent Carter," as well as four more projects with Netflix, for comic book characters Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and The Defenders.
The new "Daredevil" series will star, according to The Wall Street Journal, the talents of Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Rosario Dawson and Deborah Ann Woll.
Besides the "Daredevil" Netflix series premiere date, the site also announced the return of its hit show "House of Cards" on February 27; meanwhile, Tina Fey's new show will premiere on March 6; the new Kyle Chandler series "Bloodline" will see the light of day on March 20; and the Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin show "Grace and Frankie" will launch on May 8.
It is still unclear when the third season of Netflix's "Orange is the New Black" will be released.
