As news of the Virginia Roberts scandal broke out in the United Kingdom, the man who is often considered among the most quiet in the British crown has the eyes of the world on him; but his former wife, beloved figure Sarah Ferguson, is Prince Andrew's avid supporter in this entire ordeal.

After getting permission from Queen Elizabeth II (the monarch must officially allow her children to marry, under British legislation) Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew married on July 23 1986 in Westminster Abbey, in a wedding that became an international event - though not nearly as big as his brother Charles' wedding to Diana of Wales. Together, the Duke and Duchess of York had two children, Beatrice and Eugenie, Prince William and Prince Harry's first cousins and respectively the sixth and seventh in line to the throne of England.

Recently, as news of the Virginia Roberts sexual allegations broke out, Ferguson told The Daily Mail that the York family is and had always been "a tight unit," as she defended the Duke of York - however, her opinion on the case might be biased in another way besides him being the father of her children: Jeffrey Epstein, the man who Roberts claims was a sex slave to, gave Fergie £15,000 to help her out of debt, back in 2010.
