Toshiba, CES 2015 is also making rounds with their very own set of new devices. From the looks of things, 2015 will offer consumer a wide array of tablets with pens to choose from. Not to be left alone, Toshiba has also joined in the long line of companies that has pen-and-tablet products.
Toshiba's unveiled their new series of tablets, the Encore 2 Write. It will be available in two variants, depending on its screen size, the eight inch and the 10 inch model.
The new tablets are released alongside Toshiba's new product the TruPen. It takes advantage of the Wacom Feel technology and according to Toshiba will give users 2,048 different levels of pressure sensitivity. Those who were lucky enough to test the tablets say that the pen gives a pretty accurate response to the tablet and experiences no lag after all.
The tablet supports resolution of up to 1280x800 pixel with added In-plane switching feature. It runs using the Intel Aton chipset with two gigabytes of memory and 64 gigabyte of built-in storage. Storage upgrade is also possible, thanks to the microSD slot that can support up to 128 gigabyte of additional storage. It also has microUSB and microHDMI slots. The tablet has both front and rear camera. Unfortunately only the front camera has HD support while the rear one is an 9-megapixel camera. According to Toshiba, the tablet can last 11 hours on regular use and eight hours on video playback.
The tablet runs on Windows 8.1 OS and includes a free Office 365 Personal subscription good for one whole year. The tablet also comes in with three exclusive apps: TruNote, Trucapture and TruRecorder.
TruNote, will take advance of the pen. It is an extremely handy tool that can help users in taking down notes, to drawing and even working with graphics.
The Encore 2 Write tablets will be available in the Microsoft Store on Jan 11. It will cost $350 for the eight inch model and $500 for the 10 inch model.
