Rajon Rondo Returns To The TD Garden, Fans Welcomes Him With Standing Ovation

The All Star point guard Rajon Rondo is back to its previous home, the TD Garden Arena, although this time he is wearing a different uniform. The former Boston Celtics point guard has played one of his greatest games in his career.

Although Rondo is playing for the opposing team, he was still warmly welcomed by the home crowd. During the first quarter break, a video tribute was shown on the big screen highlighting Rondo's on-court and off-court performance during his time with the Celtics.

Rondo made his mark on the return to the TD Garden, breaking his career high 15 points for the first quarter, ending the game with a season high 29 points. He also broke his career high with five 3-point shots made in the game. Rondo's 3-point shot career record is 25.4%, but on this game alone he made 5 of his 7 3-point shots. Rondo also made the Mavs' first 10 points of the game marking a 12 for 19 shooting spree. Rondo finished the game with 29 points, six rebounds five assists and one steal.

To add to the Mavericks relentless offense, Monta Ellis scored 22 points; Dirk Nowitzki added another 17 while Tyson Chandler dominated the boards with 16 rebounds. The win game the Mavs its fourth consecutive win. Celtics rookie Marcus Smart added eight points and seven assists with just 28 minutes playtime coming off the bench.

Avery Bradley led the Boston Celtics in points with 22 with Tyler Zeller recording a double-double performance with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

On a post-game interview, when asked about his teammate's performance, Mavs center Tyson Chandler said "He's a big game player. He's amazing. To come into a situation like this where you spent your entire career and had incredible success, I know it had to be very emotional. But he came incredibly locked in."
