Now, there's a sentence nobody ever thought would happen, McDonald's Black Sabbath: news has come out that there's a band called Mac Sabbath that plays covers of the pioneering heavy metal band that introduced the world to Ozzy Osbourne.
Yes, the McDonald's Black Sabbath band is definitely a thing, whether anyone believes in it or not; and, just like Santa, it has reached worldwide fame in this holiday season to bring the world joy, Happy Meals, heavy metal and some seriously creepy-looking band members.
The McDonald's Black Sabbath cover band, Mac Sabbath, is exactly as it sounds: a combination between the biggest fast food chain in the world and the classic rock band from the 60s and 70s. According to Fox News, though, the mix doesn't really stop with the costumes: the lyrics of the classic metal songs are actually changed to sound more fast food friendly!
While the whole concept is hilarious, perhaps the best thing about the McDonald's Black Sabbath cover band is that they seem to be taking their concept pretty seriously: in their Facebook page, the very first thing they do is clarifying that the band is indeed a thing and doesn't only exist to sell wacky t-shirts.
"NO - This is not a joke page to sell T-Shirts," says Mac Sabbath's Facebook page. "Yes- This band is exactly what you want it to be. 'MAC SABBATH' Is indeed: Ronald Osbourne and the whole gang in full regalia playing all their hits like 'Sweet Beef' and 'Chicken for the Slaves' in a multi-media show with video, theatrics, audience participation and sing alongs [sic]"
Of course, sites like MTV are absolutely in love with the whole idea, and the Internet is considering the McDonald's Black Sabbath cover band a bit of a Christmas present from the land of metal, from the oddest and less likely of places: a Happy Meal!
