The Imitation Game: A Great Tribute To A Great Person

A new viewpoint about how the Allied forces won the Second World War is slightly gaining audience within the silver screen. "The Imitation Game" is a movie that tackles the gallant acts of the silent hero named Alan Turing who have turned the tides of war without even firing a single shot.

Although underrated, the movie opened up at the number two spot in the UK box office chart. It was reported that it earned more than $4.28 million on its opening day. Critics also agree with the commercial success of "The Imitation Game". The film scored a lot of positive reviews from quite a considerable number of critics. Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a general average score of 88%. Metacritic on the other hand gave this movie a passing grade of 72/100.

The film, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch who plays the principal character as the genius Alan Turing, has been on the target of critical acclaim lately. Speculations are crawling within the film industry that the film might even deserve a nomination within the Oscars circle. The film already has four nominations for the Golden Globe Awards;, Best Motion Picture (Drama), Best Actor in Drama Best Screenplay and Best Original Screenplay.

"The Imitation Game" is just one of the many historical films released in the month of December. The most notable of all these film is the Stephen Hawking biopic "The Theory of Everything" which is already gaining a lot of critical acclaim.

The film focuses on the exploits of the mathematical genius Alan Turing who developed a breakthrough algorithm on how to break Enigma. In the peak of the Second World War, the Germans have created a unique and almost unbreakable cryptographic machine nicknamed "Enigma".

"The Imitation Game" might earn a lot of money based on its theatrical release. However, Morten Tyldum's superb story-telling have turned the movie into a masterpiece beyond recognition. It is a film that wonderfully exemplifies the power of innovation and technology.
