‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’: Part 1 Rules the Box Office with $560.5M Worldwide!

'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay': Part 1 is still on top since weekend. It easily goes on top among other movies and it is on its third week. The film earned $560.5 million worldwide.

'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' Part 1 being the box office is actually contrary to what they are expecting because among the Mockingjay Hunger Games' three book, it is the weakest. Hence, they need to put a lot of efforts and handwork on it which is also one of the reasons why they needed to split up one book into two films even if it's not a thick book just like the "Harry Potter" novel.

Jennifer Lawrence playing the role of Katniss Everdeen was mandate to have 'fight-to-the-death' entertaining rich people on "Hunger Games" first two films. Now, on the third book Katniss is being asked to join elite and be a symbol of revolution.

What makes this third movie so exciting? Well, maybe one of the factors would be the story since this movie will begin its story where it ended. Hence, it gives an excitement to those who have watched the second film and triggers curiosity to those who haven't. The "Catching Fire" ended when Everdeen escaped from the tournament that might end her life. She went to District 13 underground which was believed to be dead or disappeared a very long time ago.

Next to the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" is the "Penguins to the Madagascar" earning $1.1Mfollowed by "Horrible Bosses 2" with $8.6M. On the number four spot is "Big Hero 6" earning $8.1M and fifth is the "Interstellar" earning $8M.

The results given here are just weekend estimates. The given figures were collected on Friday until Saturday based on ticket sales. The new results will be posted anytime soon this week.
