Doritos Crust Pizza: Australia Pizza Hut Welcomes New Incredibly Decadent Crust

For all of those who are in Australia right now or planning to go there in the next few months, Pizza Hut has released a new item that will satisfy the most decadent junk food consumers: Doritos crust pizza.

In a new attempt at renewing the long-standing franchise that has turned into the biggest pizza chain in the world, Pizza Hut goes to one of the world's most important test markets to try out the new twist to eating a pizza while watching a sports game, with all that's right and wrong with the world at the very same time: Doritos crust pizza.

According to the United Kingdom news outlet The Guardian, the Doritos crust pizza that has recently reached the Australian Pizza Huts could either be the best thing to have ever happened to food or the downright worst.

In their story about the new product, they compare the Doritos crust pizza to other extreme measures that fast food chains have taken in the past few years, as the industry wanes down from its traditional sales. As patrons now opt for casual dining instead, fast food chains have been forced into changing their strategies.

A few months ago, KFC Korea announced that they'd be releasing a bunless burger from their Double Down series, that wouldn't only have two pieces of chicken and a patty, but also bacon. Similarly, McDonald's Australia launched a new series of gourmet burgers to try to catch wider audiences in the country Down Under.

In any case, the Doritos crust pizza is still only on trial version in the Australian restaurants, and it is unknown whether Pizza Hut will export the decadent junk food strategy to other countries.

According to Perez Hilton, the style is called Doritos Crunchy Crust and it also features molten mozzarella cheese and cheddar - and it sounds just like what you'd want to eat when you don't care about what happens to the world.
