‘Unbroken’ Film- Life Story of Louis Zamperini: Potential Player for Oscar

Eventhough there are still movies like the Sony Pictures' remake of "Annie" as well as Exodus: Gods and Kings" of Ridley Scot, still there are speculations that "Unbroken" will be on the last spot for Oscar. Angelina Jolie's movie is actually about an Italian-American athlete who was turned into WWII POW of Louis Zamperini, died at the age of 97. This is a story of redemption, survival, and resilience.

The 2010 biography written by Laura Hillenbrand, the same person who authored the book in which "Seabiscuit" was based, another nominee for Oscar's best Picture. However, later she learned that Louis Zamperini is just her neighbor. And according to Angelina Jolie, Laura Hillenbrand and Louis Zamperini met and get acquainted with each other. As expected the latter ought to Laura his life story.

The Louis Zamperini's life story is somehow difficult to screw up because his experiences were actually more dramatic, making this movie as one of the films that people are expecting to watch heavy-drama. So, to meet all of those expectations from the movie and to prove that she deserves to be on this industry, Jolie surrounded herself with best people to play the casts: Scriptwriters are Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, both Oscar winning brothers with Roger Deakins as its cinematographer. They all work hand-in-hand and put all their 100% efforts and more to create such remarkable movie as "Unbroken."

Watching this movie will open all wounds of the past and refreshes all the debates of the past. The painful experiences will be remembered that will touch anyone's heart. How will Japan react to this film since they prefer to just bury the past and continue to face the present and the future? Will the Universal screen decides to have a different cut for this film best for Japan? The answers to that question will be released this week.
