McCormick & Company, Inc. is recalling a specific batch of French's Original Crispy Fried Onions due to the potential presence of Staphylococcus aureus, commonly known as staph bacteria.

French's Original Crispy Fried Onions distributed in Arizona and Illinois are of concern. The following products are specifically under recall: 

  • 26.5 oz. pouches of French's Original Crispy Fried Onions with UPC code 041500959030 (720 pouches)

  • 6 oz. French's Original Crispy Fried Onions with UPC code 041500220208 (3,456 units

Why the Recall?

The recall was initiated due to the potential growth of Staphylococcus aureus on the product. This bacteria can cause foodborne illness if consumed.

What to Do?

Consumers are urged not to consume the recalled French's Original Crispy Fried Onions. The product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Symptoms of Staph Food Poisoning

Symptoms of staph food poisoning can develop within 30 minutes to eight hours after consuming contaminated food. These may include:
