Scandal star Kerry Washington and former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha are reportedly on a verge of divorce.
For the past months, Washington and Asomugha's marriage has been plague by numerous rumors of strife. Now, another report came out that the 38 year old actress is planning to file for divorce early next year. One of the alleged issues stems from the former player, who purportedly didn't make any effort to find himself a career after being cut from the San Francisco 49ers.
Asomugha lost his career in 2013, around the same time he exchanged vows with his wife. In 2014 the couple welcomed their baby girl, Isabell. Throughout their married life, the couple remained private about their personal lives, until recent news broke out that the couple might actually be heading for divorce.
According to Life & Style magazine via Celeb Dirty Laundry, Kerry and Nnamdi are already separated, although it's not clear how long it has been. The website said that an insider revealed to them that Kerry "resents" her husband because she is working hard for the family while her husband just stays at home and doesn't even bother to find himself a decent job.
Nnamdi on the other hand is said to be "bitter" as he thinks that Kerry has already given up on their marriage. The source further alleged to the media outlet that the couple tried to work things out by going to a couple's therapy. However, the counselling reportedly didn't work out.
In 2014, at the Golden Globe Awards, Washington showed off her baby bumps at the event. Along with her husband she happily said, "I feel like I have the best date of the night. My little accessory tonight." Later that night the couple attended an after party at the Weinstein Company where they both enjoyed the night.
