After he found out what his dad had been through, Peter said "Dad's determination, what Dad's achieved in life, is incredible. He came to London not being able to speak a word of English, learnt a trade - he became a barber - and he still owns a barber's shop in Paddington."

Peter also took the chance to speak about the 'Strictly Curse,' which allegedly affects dancing contestants as they purportedly fall in love with their professional dance partners. He said, "I don't believe in the 'Curse of Strictly'." Adding, "If you wanna go off with someone, you're gonna do it. [Calling it] that is stirring the pot." He further added that he can't wait to go home and see his wife Emily MacDonagh, who is 26 year old.

He also opened up about his religious beliefs. He said he was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses before but left the faith after he realized that the religion practices contradicted his TV ambition. "I think the saying is: "You can't sit at the table of the Lord and sit at the table of the devil at the same time."
